1807 Giulio Meneghini possesses the death mask 26.02.1770 Death of Giuseppe Tartini; the Meneghini family has a wax death mask made of his face post 1807 ante 1824 The mask, the wig and other objects are given by Giulio Meneghini to a certain Signor Carnio as security for a previously contracted debt 1881 After Carnio’s death, his wife, most likely prompted by financial necessity, sends an old woman in her service to the workshop of the luthier Carlo Meneguzzi to sell one of Tartini’s violins, the work of the luthier Antonio Bagatella. Ettore Rampini, an enthusiast of lutherie, is present. Meneguzzi purchases the violin and has it examined by the violinists Barbiroli and Cunegotto, who confirm its authenticity. He purchases other Tartini-related objects, but shortly afterwards sells all the materials to Rampini January April 1881 Materials exhibited in the Music Exhibition of Milan of 1881 May October 1 7 10
