If Your Reverence could take the trouble to tell Signor Don Gioachino that not having been able to confer with Signor Don Antonio for the promised reply, I have begged Your Reverence by letter to inform the aforementioned gentleman, that it is, and will be, impossible for me to ever resolve to do what he wishes, as I am completely foreign to such honours, knowing myself well. From the aforementioned, I have received the most learned letter from Your Reverence, to which with regard to the considerations and recommendations concerning Signor Paolino I shall give no answer, as Your Reverence already knows quite well (and mentions this to me) that it is superfluous. I simply beg you to convey my most respectful regards to His Excellency Signor Conte Cornelio, and assure him again that my present attention is greater than any I have had in my life.
