71 INTRODUCTION Editorial criteria In presenting the texts I have maintained a primarily conservative criterion, merely adding missing accents, modernising the form of the indeterminate masculine article, and eliminating superfluous capitalisation in the forms of address. I have also clarified the punctuation where this is useful for a greater understanding of the text. Editorial additions are indicated in square brackets and written-out abbreviations are indicated in italics. The letters are arranged in chronological order, with the indication of sender and recipient at the top. In the General Index, subsidiary information and the location of each letter can be found. The Index also includes references to the letters of the Tartini- Riccati correspondence published by Del Fra, listed in chronological order.
